Shipping Your Equipment Checklist

Please use this check list to prepare and ship your equipment to us.

  1. Write down the make, model and serial numbers of the equipment you're shipping to us. This information is for your own records.
  2. Insert a spare media card in your camera and save all your custom settings to it (your camera’s manual will tell you how to do this). Then remove the media card and store it in a safe place. You keep it, do not send it to us.
  3. Insert and format another digital media card in your camera. (Do not use the one you just saved your settings on.)
  4. Remove any tripod mounting clips and camera straps from your camera and/or lenses. If your telephoto lens has a tripod mounting ring, please leave it on the lens.
  5. Make sure that the camera battery is fully charged. Do not send any spare batteries.
  6. Remove the lens from the camera body and attach the body cap to the camera. Attach caps to both ends of the lens.
  7. Wrap the camera body and the lens separately in plenty of bubble wrap. Please don't go crazy with the tape, I'll be shipping your equipment back using the same packing materials. Then box up the equipment and make sure all sides are protected with additional packing peanuts or bubble wrap. Even when marked fragile, accidents happen.
  8. Make sure that you insure your equipment for its replacement value with UPS, FedEx or whatever carrier you are using. If your equipment is damaged in shipping they are who you will be filing a claim with.
  9. Tell the shipper that you want the package signed for when it arrives-- send it “signature required.”
  10. nclude a prepaid return shipping label for returning your equipment to you. Make sure that you insure your equipment for its return trip, too. If you don’t use a prepaid label and I have to bill you for shipping, it will take longer for you to get your equipment back.
  11. Print out the Authorization Label you received with the e-mail confirming your payment and tape it to the outside of your box. (If you printed it out on an inkjet printer, please cover the information on the lable with clear tape in case of inclement weather). The shipment will not be accepted without this authorization on the outside of the box.
